Neville Levy (1892, New Orleans – April 13, 1974) was an American captain of the Navy. == Biography == Levy graduated from Tulane University in 1913 with a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering, He joined the army in 1917, where he served during World War I in the United States Army Air Corps and the Navy. He attended the Naval Submarine School at Annapolis in 1918. In 1921 he founded the Equitable Equipment Company, a shipbuilding firm. He received a commission in the Naval Reserve in 1921, where he served until 1941. He served as Assistant District Personnel Officer for the Eighth Naval District from 1941 to 1946. He was Chairman of the Mississippi River Bridge Authority from 1950 to 1958. The Greater New Orleans Bridge was built under his oversight. He served on the Board of Directors of New Orleans Public Library, the Navy League of the United States, International House Hotel, the Salvation Army, the U.S. Public Service Hospital, and Hotel Dieu.
